Today is National Pie Day! To celebrate, the American Pie Council (APC) would like to encourage all members of the baking industry and pie lovers everywhere to teach someone to make a pie in honor of this special day. Passing on the tradition of pie making is an important part of our culture and a mission of The American Pie Council.
This year APC has partnered with Paramount Pictures and its new film, “Labor Day.” “Labor Day,” starring Kate Winslet in a Golden Globe-nominated performance, Josh Brolin and Gattlin Griffith and directed by Jason Reitman, features a pie-making scene that becomes an important theme in the story and shares the APC’s message of passing down skills from generation to generation. The movie will be released nationally on January 31, 2014, a week after National Pie Day, offering a unique way for pie lovers to celebrate their favorite holiday. So, on National Pie Day, make a date for January 31st to see Paramount Picture’s new film, “Labor Day.” Watch a clip from the movie!
APC would love for you to share photos of your pie teaching experiences. You can post photos on our Facebook Page or send them directly to APC President Linda Hoskins (a.k.a. “Pie Queen). In addition, look for ticket giveaways for “Labor Day” on our Facebook page starting soon!
Please feel free to use the National Pie Day poster, featuring “Labor Day” on your own Facebook page or promotions.
