Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA-5) will address the American Bakers Association’s (ABA) Board of Directors during its summer meeting on June 12, in Washington, D.C. With more than thirty of the baking industry’s top leaders and executives in attendance, Rep. McMorris Rodgers will discuss a variety of issues that are of importance to the industry including controlling health care costs, releasing businesses from onerous regulatory burdens and other initiatives to spur sustainable economic growth.
“A proven leader in the House, Rep. McMorris Rodgers will offer the ABA Board valuable and unique insights on the current legislative landscape,” said ABA President and CEO Robb MacKie.
Rep. McMorris Rodgers serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Subcommittee on Health. In 2012, she was also elected to serve as Chairman of the House Republican Conference which makes her the fourth highest-ranking Republican and the highest-ranking female Republican in the House of Representatives. Additionally, Rep. McMorris Rodgers co-chairs five Congressional caucuses: Down Syndrome, Military Family, Lumber, Neuroscience, and the Rural Health Coalition.
