WASHINGTON, D.C. ─ The American Bakers Association’s Executive Leadership Development Committee (ELDC) is pleased to announce that Irene Chang Britt, President of Pepperidge Farm will address attendees during the Morning Program Session on September 19 at the annual ELDC Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Britt will present the Baking Industry Leader Series, imparting her insights on best practices in leadership, as well as the challenges and opportunities that she wrestles with as an industry leader. The Forum attendees will also hear about Ms. Britt’s career path and choices that led her to a leadership role at Pepperidge Farm.
“Irene is a respected leader in the baking industry and ELDC is privileged to have her share some of her experiences with our annual gathering of the industry’s next generation of leaders,” said Kelly Knowles, ABA Senior Director of Political Affairs and ELDC Staff Liaison.
Ms. Britt has been honored with several awards for her business and community accomplishments, including being named in 2011, a “Women of Distinction” by The Philadelphia Business Journal and a Laureate in the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame. In 2008, she was recognized by NJBiz as one of the Best 50 Women in Business, by Pink magazine as a Top 15 Innovator, and by Progressive Grocer as a Top Women in Grocery.
She was appointed Senior Vice President-Global Baking and Snacking in April 2012, and added the role of President, Pepperidge Farm, in August 2012. Ms. Britt joined Campbell as Vice President and General Manager-Sauces and Beverages in December 2005, responsible for the U.S. Beverage portfolio, as well as the Prego and Pace sauces businesses. Under her leadership, the Sauces and Beverages business delivered three consecutive years of outstanding top- and bottom-line growth, including consistent gains of net sales, market share, and profit on the company’s U.S. Beverage business.
