ABA’s Logistics Committee met last week in Washington, D.C. to discuss important issues impacting fleet and distribution for the baking industry in 2015. Members of the committee held an in depth discussion and established industry positions on Federal Highway Funding and future planning to combat the problem of bakery tray theft.

The committee had the opportunity to meet with a representative from the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) to inquire on Hours of Service Regulations and how the rules will effect Bakery DSD Systems. Additionally, Chuck Paterakis of H&S Bakery gave a special presentation on their new Propane AutoGas fleet, and brought one of the bakery’s new trucks to Washington for the committee to view.
The ABA Logistics Committee is made up from Member Fleet and Distribution Executives, and meets regularly to stay informed and set industry positions on public policy impacting the wholesale baking industry. For more information or please contact Mike Goscinski, firstname.lastname@example.org.
