It is bittersweet that ABA announces the retirement of Receptionist and Administrative Assistant, Helen Nelson, on June 19. Helen has been an integral and valuable part of the ABA team for over 16 years. Joining ABA in March 1999, she brought 24 years of previous association experience. Helen is also a Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army for nearly six years. During her ABA tenure, Helen brought many contributions, including earning her certificate in bookkeeping and the Notary Public achievement. She is known best for her excellent front line ABA ambassador skills greeting many ABA members, members of Congress and visitors over the last 16 years. The ABA membership and staff will miss Helen, and wish her much happiness on her retirement.
“Helen has been an incredible asset to ABA and we will miss her greatly. The warmth and helpfulness that she has shared with every person that has called or walked through our doors has set a shining example for the rest of the ABA team,” said Robb MacKie.
“The importance of dedicated and exceptional staff cannot be understated. Helen has certainly shown how this dedication contributes to an effective and successful organization,” commented Rich Scalise.
