President & CEO Robb MacKie reported that the move hoped to accomplish three main goals:
- Tell the story of the industry through artwork and other mediums
- Create a more engaging and flexible meeting and event space
- Add space to accommodate member visits and co-inhabitants – the Grain Foods Foundation
“The entire staff pitched in when it came to the move, but I would be remiss if I did not point out the exceptional effort and dedication by ABA’s Christina Donnelly, Assistant to the President & CEO of Special Projects, and Chuck Wellard, Senior Vice President, Operations,” said ABA President & CEO Robb MacKie. “It was amazing to see a vision on nothing more than a scratch pad come to life once all the finishing touches were put in place.”
“The larger conference room with enhanced technical features create a more inviting and flexible meetings space that will engage members as well as keep meeting costs down,” he added. “The artwork is phenomenal and truly tells the story of the industry’s rich history, but also illustrates the amazing leaps and bounds it has taken in terms of modern-day technological advancements.”
ABA is planning its “big reveal” to take place with the upcoming Fall Board of Directors meeting. ABA also encourages any member in the neighborhood to stop by and check it out!
