The American Bakers Association (ABA) is pleased to announce that Thomas Andresen Gosselin, Director for Sustainable Supply Chain and Sourcing for DNV GL in USA & Canada, will be a featured speaker at the ABA 2015 Fall Policy Conference on October 20 – 22. Gosselin will use a loaf of bread to illustrate the journey of how sustainability and social responsibility are being addressed through the value chain. From farm to toaster, he will review some of the sustainability issues faced at each stage. Gosselin explores farming practices and sustainability sourcing models along with mapping key ingredients.
With over 17 years in the field of sustainability in five different countries, Gosselin joined DNV GL in 2005 as Global Manager for Ethical Supply Chain. His current position focuses on the auditing services and supply chain risk management in Food & Beverage, electronics, and FMCG. Gosselin is qualified as an SA8000 Advanced Lead Auditor, SMETA Lead Auditor, EICC Lead Auditor and fluent in five languages. He has participated in the development of the ISO26000 (Social Responsibility) standard, the GRI Sector Supplement for Transportation & Logistics and represented DNV GL on the Audit Committee of Social Accountability International.
“Our industry continues to be challenged on many fronts; we are being asked about sustainable supply chains, renewable energy, regulatory pressures and overall social responsibility,” said Jim McKeown, Director Environment/Sustainability, Bimbo Bakeries USA. “This session will address these issues and then some. If your company is not represented at this meeting, you could be missing an opportunity to stay ahead of the overall sustainability curve.”
The ABA 2015 Fall Policy Conference features three jam-packed days of ABA Policy Committee sessions, advocacy education, Capitol Hill lobbying visits, Bakers’ Dozen Reception, NextGenBaker executive leadership training and networking with industry peers and senior leaders.
