The American Bakers Association (ABA) announces that former White House Press Secretary and New York Times bestselling author Dana Perino will serve as the American Bakers Political Action Committee (PAC) Dinner keynote speaker during the 2017 ABA Convention.
Perino will draw on her years of experience as Press Secretary in the administration of President George W. Bush and her current role as co-host of Fox News Channel’s The Five to give attendees a behind-the-scenes understanding of media and messaging in today’s political climate. An expert in public relations and crafting constructive, forward-looking messages in trying times, Perino will explain the strategies, tactics and mindset necessary to present a convincing and attractive face to customers and the American public.
“We are excited to bring such a high-caliber individual with profound political expertise to this year’s American Bakers PAC Dinner,” said American Bakers PAC Chairman Steve Avera, Flowers Foods. “We look forward to hearing Dana’s insights on the evolution of White House communication, the emergence of social media as a messaging platform and other topics during this always-popular and important industry event.”
“The American Bakers PAC Roundtable and Dinner serve as the primary fundraising events for the calendar year,” said ABA Senior Political Director Kelly Knowles “The success of American Bakers PAC is due to the incredible support from ABA members who have a keen understanding of political engagement and how it impacts the baking industry.”
Perino has also served on the Broadcasting Board of Governors; initiated Minute Mentoring, a mentoring program for young women; and has provided editorial direction for Things that Matter by Charles Krauthammer and The Time of Our Lives by Peggy Noonan.
A limited number of high-dollar donors will be able to meet personally with Perino during a VIP roundtable discussion prior to the dinner. Funds raised allow the American Bakers PAC to support candidates whose positions and decisions directly impact the baking industry.
The American Bakers PAC Dinner is a ticketed event being held on Monday evening, March 27, during the ABA Convention. Invitations and ticket order forms have been distributed to authorized ABA members.
