The 2008 ABA Policy Conference

ABA's Voice is Heard on Capitol Hill Again in Band of Bakers Part II

The American Bakers Association (ABA) in its ongoing efforts to spur Congress to address the commodity crisis and other priorities of the baking industry, sponsored a congressional fly-in in conjunction with its annual Board of Directors meeting. More than 85 top executives of the baking industry from around the United States traveled to Washington to discuss the increasing price of food, food safety, commodity availability and alternative fuels.

The Policy Conference included several meetings of key ABA Committees, a general session featuring several speakers and visits to Capitol Hill to speak with members of Congress. Key meetings were held with Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) and Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK). Additionally, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) spoke at the Board dinner. Click here for more on this story...
