Article I – Purpose
- To inform ABA members about political issues facing the baking
and allied industries, and to encourage members’ active
participation in national political affairs, and
- 2. To make contributions to the campaigns of candidates for
federal office who support the private enterprise system and
the interest of the baking and allied industries.
Article II – Officers and Members
The Committee shall have a Chairman appointed by the Chairman
of ABA. The Treasurer of the Committee shall be the President of
ABA and will be responsible for the financial records of the Committee
and for the filing of all reports required under the Federal Election
Commission. He shall also be responsible for compliance with all
applicable federal and state laws.
The Committee shall be composed of 20 members, 10 baker members
and 10 allied members, appointed by the Chairman of ABA.
Article III – Powers of the Committee
The Committee shall be empowered to act as a political action
committee in accordance with the Federal Election Campaign ACT
of 1971, and such other federal legislation as may from time to
time be enacted in this regard.
Article IV – Management
The management of the Committee shall be vested in the ABA Board
of Directors, which shall exercise such powers as are customarily
exercised by a Board of Directors.
Article V – Amendments
These by laws may be amended by a three-fourths majority of the Board
of Directors, or by a majority of the members of the Committee voting
thereupon. Voting on such amendment may be by mail ballot.
