Congressman Rodney Davis (R-IL-13) will be the keynote speaker at the American Bakers Association’s Executive Leadership Development Committee (ELDC) Public Policy Forum Group Dinner on September 18 in Washington, D.C.
Representative Davis will share his insights on leadership development and his career path to the U.S. House of Representatives. He will also speak about the outlook for the remainder of the 113th Congress.
“We are honored to have Congressman Davis join us at the ELDC Group Dinner,” said ABA Senior Political Director Kelly Knowles. “Congressman Davis has been a strong supporter of the baking industry and the business community since his election to the House in 2012. We are excited to hear about his priorities as a legislator and how we can work together to tackle challenges important to the industry.”
Rep. Davis serves on the key Congressional Committees on Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure. Prior to his election to Congress, he served as Projects Director for Congressman John Shimkus for 16 years. In that position, Rep. Davis became intimately familiar with the role that the federal government plays in our communities, where it can help, and where it can hurt. He was instrumental in helping Illinois citizens and communities cut through government red tape and worked daily to provide support and relief to a wide array of important local projects.
ELDC is dedicated to developing the future leadership of the wholesale baking industry and the American Bakers Association. The annual Public Policy Forum, September 17-19, 2014 in Washington, D.C., features industry leadership speakers, Capitol Hill lobbying visits with Members of Congress, professional development training, industry trends and education, ample networking and much more. Registration is now open! More information may be found at www.americanbakers.org.
