The 2016 ABA Convention is the place to be for baking industry professionals and we’re so glad we’ll be seeing you in Phoenix soon! With less than a week to go before your arrival, we thought we would share some helpful tidbits on how to make attending Convention a terrific experience!
Before Your Arrival to Convention
–Check out the weather for Phoenix. We are expecting a sunny week ahead!
-Make sure you are all set with your registration and lodging. If you didn’t receive your Convention confirmation or need it resent, please let me know.
-Prepare the list of issues keeping you up at night to raise with the expert speakers on the program.
2016 ABA Convention has gone mobile! Schedule, maps, reminders, and more on your iPhone/Android, for free!
What to Wear?
Even though we will be in sunny Arizona, receptions will be held outside (weather permitting), so a jacket or light wrap is advisable, especially for evening events. Please see the following dress recommendations for each event:
-Monday Evening Cocktail Reception
-American Bakers PAC Dinner
-Meetings and Business Sessions
-Tuesday Evening’s Farewell Reception
Casual /Sports Attire (suggested)
-Sports & Networking Lunch
Questions That Have Come Up Recently
-Is there a Spouse Event? Tell your spouse to pack some hiking boots, we are taking them to Squaw Peak for an adventure-filled activity. All spouses interested are to meet at the Registration Desk on Monday morning at 9:30 am, immediately following the ATBI Breakfast. A bus will be taking participants to the hike and returning them just in time for the BBQ lunch.
-Is there a theme for Tuesday evening’s Farewell Reception? No theme this year! We are taking it easy and going business casual!
En Route to Convention
-Review the attendee list – with hundreds of registered attendees, you will be sure to make many connection! (Don’t forget: pack a lot of business cards).
-Start networking now with your fellow Convention attendees…LinkedIn anyone?
-Look through the final program and checkout all the great sessions we have in-store for you!
–Arriving to Phoenix: If you are taking a taxi from the Phoenix airport to the Arizona Biltmore, look for the Westbound Taxi Stand.
On Your Way Home from Convention
-Send a short note to everyone you met, recalling some comments from your conversation. Enclose materials you promised to send.
-Make plans to connect with these individuals at another event in the near future…perhaps at IBIE 2016 in Las Vegas, October 8-10?
